Re: Place your bets!
Nice tank, plenty of room to do lengths in that one and no fear of cracking your head on the bottom when diving in.
I don't know that much about plants, mainly they start off green, then go yellow... I more apt at keeping wood.
Is that a piranha in the corner? just kidding keep up the good work!

If you took the doors off, you could fit two more little ones in the cupboards!
Very nice, they're looking good & going to love it in there.

Haha. Yeah I'm hoping I don't kill them before they have a chance to grow, I'm usually more brown and mushy fingered than green fingered.
And Rob.. Don't tempt me. xD The little one is a quarantine tank, getting it cycled cos I may be plotting another visit to have some german blue rams and possibly some rummy nose tetras off you at some point once I've just got a pair of angels in there.. xD

very nice looking tank! If your worried about keeping the plants alive I can recommend Easylife Profito and EasyCarbo. I use both and instead of adding a large dose of the Profito once a week I've divided the dose by 7 and add it in small doses daily. This was a recent shot of my tank

Ooh that's a lovely tank!
I think I'm on the right track with the plants, I'm using Ei ferts that you mix yourself and Seachem flourish excel cos I'm too chicken to use actual CO2. xD There's soil under the sand for root feeders.

Re: Place your bets!
all that sounds good Blither, if you are using good ferts and co2 there's no reason for the plants not to flourish. I'm like you, I'm also too chicken to use canister co2 ... I think the liquid works just aswell and is probably cheaper too.
If it ain't broke why fix it?! lol

Hehe well I'll see how it goes, plants have only been in a week so there's a lot of growing to do. It should be quite dense and much taller. My red tiger lotus is still just a bulb.. It would be my favourite plant that I have to wait for. xD

Not the best photo, but here are Spots and Big Smokey. They just ate so they're fatties, but Big Smokey (in front on the left) is noticeably plump without food.
They're never more than 6 inches away from each other. ^.^

Re: Place your bets!
my female is always fatter than my male ... is that just a female angel thing? She eats probably less than my male and he's very slim but she's always plumper.
They are beautiful angels Blither, can't wait to see what their fry come out like

Re: Place your bets!
Still no eggs, but lots more cleaning and more focussed, so I've moved them to the breeding tank. Fingers crossed!

Re: Place your bets!
Do you still want the pinoy pair and the two spares Dean? Now I'm sure they're a pair I'll need to move the others on. There's starting to be some aggression so they need to go I'm afraid. I may wait a few days to see how their parenting skills are but 99% certain these are the keepers.

Re: Place your bets!
Yay! They're looking good. They spawned about three days before you collected them, and they were spawning every two weeks previously so hopefully they'll give you some eggs soon. They were spawning right on the cone too. Lovely obedient fish. :p
Battleaxe gets really mean with him after spawning though, hence the chunk out of his top fin, so you may wanna watch that. D: Crazy lady.
