Smokey Paraiba x Blue Silver
These babies went freeswimming on the 12 December. I'm posting pics that were taken at 7 weeks freeswimming:-

Re: Smokey Paraiba x Blue Silver
Mum is a smokey paraiba from John Wharmby and dad is a blue silver imported from Thailand and purchased from my local aquatic shop. The baby pics were taken at 4 weeks freeswimming. They don't look blue at 8 weeks and 10p bodysize, but John tells me they will get bluer at 50p bodysize. Here's pics of the patents:-
I was going to post pics of the parents, but cannot do so for 7 days. If you check out my gallery mum and dad are on there.

7 days? well I will have to sort that out. I have a smokey blushing from John too, but Rob has identified him as pb het, will grab piccys later. Have you tried a different light over the youngsters, as my smokey blue babbies realy stand out under a brighter light.

Interesting that you have a smokey blushing from john. Someone on Angelfish.net suggested my smokey paraiba was a smokey blushing with no pb at all, and at best het pb.I would love to see a pic of your smokey blushing to compare. Mine was sold as a paraiba.
I think the babies don't look blue in the flesh, but they do in the pics in this thread. What's your opinion of the pics please?

OK Helen, you should be OK to post images from Photobucket now.
At first glance I would have thought a mix of pb & pb het, there is talk of Johns fish not actualy carrying pb but a new kind if irridecence but I do know for a fact he has pb in his lines eg Titanium Blues from John are Blue Ghosts (pb/pb-+/S).

Re: Smokey Paraiba x Blue Silver
Thanks Lisa. My Smokey paraiba has a similar base colour to your smokey blushing, but a lot of gold and blue irridescence around the gills, and also spangles, although not many, in the fins. John did say there is titanium and German Blue in his lines. I am keeping 6 of these ghosts until spring for ukbulldog, so it will interesting to see how they turn out.
Thanks for sorting out the pics issue.
