Tank Sizes Empty Tank Sizes

Post  TONY,S ANGELS Tue 26 Feb 2013, 15:02

Hi All
Right now I know how to put pics on here i will try and give a bit more
detail of were I spend all of my time.

First room 1 this is were i enter the fish house' through a pvc front door.
Tank Sizes Fish_h17
Tanks in room 1
Tanks on top shelf L 2ft x H 18" x D 18" = x4 All 4 for breeders, all filtered with fluval 303 & 403 externals in room 1
Tanks under them L 4ft x H 2ft x H 2ft with under gravel and external
Tank " " L 4ft x H 2ft x H 18" " " " " "
Tanks opposite on top L 6ft x H 2ft x D 18"
Tank under L 6ft x H 22" x D 18"
Over the top in roof beams is my water change fiber glass 110 tank so gravity does the work for me.
Tank Sizes Fish_h18
Room 2
Two Tanks with breeding bristle nose L 30" x H 15" x D 15" under gravel fillters
Centralised system L 6ft x H 2ft x D 18" then under them x3 L 2ft x H 15" x 17" which run down through a
4 ft filter Tank, All Centralised system,s are pumped by converted central heating pumps and 21.5mm pipe.
opposite is x 4 Centralised system L 36" x H 15" x D 15" with 4ft sump.
Tank Sizes Fish_h19
Room 3
This is all for my breeding pairs
Centralised system with 4 x 4ft Tanks = divided to L 2ft x H 15" x D 15" makeing 8 tank system with 4 ft sump
Centralised system with one 6ft tank devided into 4 = L 18" x H 18" x D 18" under that are 4 L 2ft x H 15" x D 15"
with 4ft sump filter tank.
To the side of that is one large tank devided into x 4 = L 17" x H 2ft x D 20" were i breed my Discus all filtered
with sponge filters. oh and 2 small tanks of L 15" x H 14" x D 10" thinking of geting some crystal shrimp in these.
And that is all for now the wife ( boss ) wont let me build any more onto it at the ( moment Crying or Very sad ) .
Hope this is clear enough not to good with pc anything not clear please ask and i will try to put right.

Tank Sizes Empty pipe sizes

Post  TONY,S ANGELS Sun 03 Mar 2013, 16:19

Hi All
Forgot to anser Robs question = on the pipe work
All the Centralised systems have 21.5mm over flow pipe feeding the tanks with a 6mm
hole driled to feed each tank. The return water then comes back through 21.5mm
pipe to the sump tank going under and over dividing glass and out the other end and
is then pumped back to the tanks by a converted central heating pump.
And the top left tank that rob was asking about in ( pic 3 ) is a 18" x 18" x18"
Tank Sizes Fish_h21
This sort of pump system i have been running for about 12 years and i have never
had a problem of any sort.
Cheers Tony

Tank Sizes Empty Water

Post  TONY,S ANGELS Wed 20 Mar 2013, 19:17

Hi All
Just thought i would let you know, when i was feeding the f/house tonight i noticed
that 10 / or 12 air stones were not putting the right amount of air into the tanks then when
I looked a bit closer could see bubbles of water in the 6mm air line, so i thought i must have
some water in the main 40mm ring main pipe so switched of the air pump and opened the bleed off
and i was right two and a half gallons of water poured out. Just shows how humid it is in there.
When i switched the pump back on all the air stones were blasting the air out so had to adjust
some 40 to 50 so air stones. Now all is running well again never thought you would get so much
humid most air go through the air pump. Shocked
Cheers Tony

Tank Sizes Empty Full fish house

Post  TONY,S ANGELS Sat 23 Mar 2013, 19:32

Hi All
Just to let you all know been very busy in the f/h As another hobbyist phoned me and said
Their electric keeps tripping out and they could not find the fault and all their Angel / Discus
fish were starting to get cold and stressed, And had i got room, Yes i said So about two and half hours
later they arrived with lots of boxes and buckets filled with fish ( about 400 full grown fish ) needless to
say i had to move a lot of my fish about, But we found room for them. So have been doing a lot of water
changes, But they have now sorted the problem so no harm done. They have lost all their fillter's so will
have to start All over again running in there fillters, Can be hard work keeping fish some times Smile
I must say loosing the electric supply is my biggest fear / nightmare.
Cheers Tony

Tank Sizes Empty Tank Space

Post  TONY,S ANGELS Sat 30 Mar 2013, 16:26

Hi All
Just returned about 200 Angel's / kribs / and Rams back to my mates fish house. Very Happy
And got some tank space back, in the F/h Just got a load of Discus still here untill they get there
tank fillters matured again.
They found the problem was a broken live wire in the middle of a ring main of sockets so the
trip fuse was doing its job. Just shows one little problem can lead to panic and a lot of hard work.
Cheers Tony
