tank and equipment recomendation .
hi my name is mike and have just joined the forum, have keept a few koi for a number of years now and used to keep an aquarium some 25 years ago,now i am retired would like to set up another one and could use some expert advice.
i have kept angels before and would like to again, but equipment has changed so much i am uncertain what would be best.
weather it would be best to go with something like a juwel vision 180 but not certain if internal filter is the best way to go, think an external might be better, but if thats the case is it better to go for tank and stand only? if so have you any recomendations?,then i could buy filters etc seperately.
also if you have any advice on best tank size, i have room for 180 or 200ltr max.
also anyone know if i can buy quality fish in northwich /cheshire area, looking at some of your wonderfull pictures their is certainly more colour variations than i could have emagined.
thanks.

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the forum.
In terms of value for money, I like the Juwel aquariums, I have a vision 260 at home with angels in, and find that it runs well. All things being equal a good external filter is superior to the juwel internal filter, but that's not to say that the juwel one is bad, just that the external is better. The 180 would be a reasonable size for angels, and, if you are thinking of starting with smaller fish and growing them on, I'd go with the Juwel and upgrade to an external if I didn't get on with the juwel filter.
As to buying fish, there are a number of members in your neck of the woods, so I'm sure someone would be able to assist.

thanks for the advice, will look closely at the vision 180, it cought my eye as being a really good looking tank,i think its sound advice to try the built in filter first i just wondered if it was upto the job,and yes i was going to start with a group of young fish and see where we go from there.
regards mike.

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum
Juwel Visions are beautiful, there are a few of us in North Wales so if you need any mature media etc to get your filter going give me a shout. Lisa

thanks lisa nice to hear from you, will bear your kind offer in mind when i get fixed up,a friend also recomended the fluval vicenza 180 as it has an external filter that fits to the pre drilled tank through the bottom, sound ingenious and may be worth a look.
all the best mike.
