Fish room?
Hi guys
How much does it cost to set up a 15 tank fish room? Or does it just depend on the aquarium size and price vary? More so, does anyone have any photos of their breeding tanks or fish rooms? As would love to see some of yours!

Impossible to say, too many variables. How much does it cost to set up a 15 tank fish room?
If you want to do it cheaply look out for second hand, maybe a shop near you is having a refit or closing down.
If you want brand new & bells & whistles, you could spend a lot.

look at this add on BCA
http://www.britishcichlid.org.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=8323
advert on BCA site
it's in the for sale section of the British Cichlid Association website
I am sure i saw the advert somewhere else as well
This wouldn't build the fish room for you but it would be all the equipment you would need.

Don't want to discourage you.
But it will probably cost a lot! More than you had planned.
I had often mentioned to my Mrs that I would like to start a small fish breeding project in the garage.
About a year ago, the Mrs hears via the grapenie that a fish shop not far from us is closing down. So I dash down there, and yes, they are selling their tanks. I call a friend who owns a van, and I was the proud owner of over 1,000L worth of tanks. 1cm thick glass for £50!
And then I started to do some serious research. Gulp
Insulating the garage, electrics, shelving, equipment. It was way more than I thought it would end up costing, and that was excluding the daily running costs and electrical bill.
So in the end, I gave up on the idea
I sold the tanks on and did make a decent profit though

Yes, if you want everything up and ready to go asap then things get very expencive with insulation, plumbing, tanks equipment & then the breeding stock etc
but if you arn't in a big rush or happy to do things slowly then you can start will looking about until you get a good deal on insulation (good insulation is a big must as skimping on insulation will cost you more in electric in the long run), then build your own stands (pretty easy and at least you can decide how many tanks and position you want), the plumbing and bits and bobs usualy end up costing alot more than expected, but if you watch out for good deals and take your time spreading the cost then it can be done.
