Not heard of these Simon. Do you have any pics or links? I wonder what makes them 'super'?!

Unfortunately this quality of koi does not seem to be available in the UK. I know Rob is trying to breed for more orange coverage but its going to be a long process. I think finding someone to ship these in from the USA will be your best hope Simon.

Very long!
I have also seen photos of some very impressive Asian koi, so given time we may see some over here, but I suspect it will be a good few years before fish of that quality are widely available.

Re: Wanted Super Koi Angels
Very nice, thought that last time I roamed to that sight.
Just a thought Rob, dare say it has crossed your mind. Could it not be possible for you to do what you did with Heiko Bleher. Obviously it wont be cheap. Your talking around £15-00 for a Juvenile and £38 for a medium sized fish. Going by the Select Kio site and exchange rate. Then you will have the postage and handling on top. But just think of the return if someone succeeds with them. I might be tempted to breed them myself given half a chance. If anyone can you can Rob.
Just a thought.

I think you're confusing Heiko with Ken Kennedy. One of the issues we had with getting Ken's fish to the UK was the need for health certificates. My understanding is that the two main breeders in the States (Mellow & Angels plus) aren't interested in dealing with health certification and export to the likes of the UK, we would therefore need to employ the services of a trans-shipper, add to that the cost of the freight from the US, especially if it's a smallish shipment (under 100kg - about 10 boxes, ie about 400-500 medium sized angels). At least when I got the shipment from Ken I was able to get the freight agent to "piggyback" his shipment with one of their regular marine shipments.
I'm not saying that I wouldn't consider it, but realistically the cost is likely to be prohibitively expensive, and I really don't think there's sufficient demand for these fish at the sort of price I'd need to be selling them for.
I will have a word with a couple of wholesalers we use to see if there's any possibility of them bringing some in, either from the states, or possibly from one of the Asian breeders.

My mistake Rob, it was Ken Kennedy.

Yes that is the biggest bud bare. Not everyone will be willing to gamble on £100-00 a pair. Hypercritically speaking of course.
Please keep me updated with the out come Rob.
By the way have you seen this site http://newbreedkoi.com/welcome.html I find it very interesting.

Me too! I do wonder what would have happened with that Red angel had Paul Claes not died!I find it very interesting.
Dave Hlasnick is now working with Steve Rybicki at Angels Plus. Their best coloured koi come from a cross between Steve & Dave's best lines http://www.angelsplus.com/FishKoiSelect.htm
