Hi All,

I have read about something called a water softening pillow made by API.

Has anyone used one?

Tank stats:
500L
KH = 15
GH = 15

How much of an effect will it have?
How much will it reduce the kh, gh by?
How long will it last for?

Thanks
Squidward

Interesting but in the end there is nothing better than nice clean water Very Happy . If I want my water softer I put Bog Wood or almond leaves in, if I want my water harder then I put ocean rock in the tank (and I have bred Malawi mbuna in my water with just by adding ocean rock! and my water comes out of the tap at ph 6.4).
The main thing is just to keep your water nice and clean with water changes and good filtration.

Lisa,
My water is fairly hard. I keep some SA cichlids with my Angels. They are fine at the moment, but I thought it might be beneficial to soften the water a bit.

I can't go the RO route, so thought this might be a good option.
