Angelfish health issue.
Hi Everyone.
Please can you help ?
Its my first post on here so please be gentle with me .
I am treating a sick zebra veiltail angelfish about 10 months old.
She had what appeared to be flags ( according to the aquarist centre ) and I used Sera flagelol as per their instructions.
No carbon in filter and zeo either.
All was well after the 3rd day and did two 40% water changes to clear the tank of Sera F.
One in the evening , one next morning.
She was fine for 3 days and eating so well.
Then she lost her appetite again and poop was clear stringy .Hanging for an hour and with "little whitish pearls" in it.
I have raised the temp to 30 deg now hoping she will start eating again.
Dont know if the flags are back
Its so hard to tell.
Is it constipation ? I have tried boiled peas and garlic. Fresh bloodworm but she wont go near the stuff.
She is also flicking her tail and dorsal fin more than usual. Its strange to see that from her anyway.
Also she is hanging around the heater at the back of the tank ... alot !!!
Cycled tank.
Water par.
Nitrite 0.
Nitrate 20.
Amm 0
Ph 7.5.
And planted tank .
She is the only fish in there as its the only spare tank I have .The larger tank is occupied by another angelfish and corys.
I am desperate to help her. I have nursed her for 2 weeks now and dont want her to suffer if I can help it.
sorry if I have forgotten any other details.
Any help out there ? Please .
Many thanks.
Regards. Lou.

Re: Angelfish health issue.
Perhaps she has internal parasites? Has she stopped eating completely or starting to look thin?

I would bring the temp back to 28, 30 might be more stressful than good. You could try a wormer (Plymouth Discus have it), it can kill other little nasties too. I would also try Octozin (it seems to be my 'go to' med for problems like this), it's good for bacterial/internal problems which this probably is.

Re: Angelfish health issue.
Hi.
Thank you for your replies.
As of today she is eating some dried foods only.
Some better looking poop too.
I tried boiled shelled peas with garlic juice ( constipation was my thought ) but not met with much interest .
She isnt thinner really .
I will reduce the temp to 28 degs. and will try a wormer . .
Have not heard of Plymouth Discus before. I will take a look and Octozin.
I have something to hand on the shelf by NTLABS - fluke and wormer treatment
Cant see it doing any harm trying as I feel so helpless trying to establish why she has been so unwell.
Will keep you posted and Many thanks for your replies.
I really do appreciate it.
Kindest regards. Lou.

Re: Angelfish health issue.
Hi .
Just to add.
She has been pooping all day and its semi -clear almost 1 inch poop length just hanging there .
She desperately wants to shake it off herself.
And she gets irrated with me when I approach the tank. She comes up to the front of the tank /glass and is headbutting my finger and moving around quite distressfully to get my attention.
She is shuddering which she never does normally and taking in big gulps of water
I have not fed her today and started the worming treatment.
I have uploaded a photo via my profile picture. Its the only way I could do it as images wont upload onto this thread.

Re: Angelfish health issue.
Hi.
As of today.
Blood in poop. Clear parts of poop with what looks like bloodsacks .
She has been wormed and now I am not sure if this is expelling any "worms"
I'm worried.
