Poorly Angelfish
Hi Guys,
My large male gold angel has been unwell for sometime now. He is in a community tank at the moment and was doing fine but in the last couple of week he has gone off his food, stopped eating, lost his vibrant gold colour and today I have noticed a very sunken stomach. No other fish, including another angel, are affected by anything.
I don't know what it could be as no external characteristics, perhaps worms? Or another internal bug? Any suggestions on medication for him?
Sam

Re: Poorly Angelfish
It could be worms or internal parasites. Some of my angels displayed the same symptoms and I treated with ESha Hexamita. I did lose 3, but managed to save 3 others. After the initial 3 day dose I continued adding a half dose for a further 4 days, just to be sure. I also replaced the meds removed when I performed water changes. You should see improvement within a couple of days of starting the treatment.
I hope this helps, and your fish improves.

Re: Poorly Angelfish
ESHA Hexamita is a brilliant idea! I bought some a while back and completely forgot I had it. Thank you endlessendlers!
As he was quite bad and has been like this for a week or more (due to me being away and nobody realising) I have decided to double dose. The instructions say this is ok and should yield some fast results. I just want to see him eat again, once that happens I'll feel much happier.
Thanks again,
Sam

A quick response to the symptoms is key. Be sure to half dose every day after the first three days. Good luck.

Re: Poorly Angelfish
I think I missed the quick response window as I was away for work. Since being back I've tried a few things but nothing seemed to make a difference. I'd completely forgotten about the ESHA Hexamita I had. I'm hopeful it's not too late.
The instructions call for 34 drops day 1, 17 drops days 2 and 3.
Do you mean I should continue 17 drops per day or do you mean I should add 8.5 drops after the first three days?

No, 17 drops days 4,5,6 and 7. I hope this is clear. I don't think you can overdose as it breaks down within 24 hours.
