Deformed Anal Fins cut? Empty Deformed Anal Fins cut?

Hi all, I have a bit of a dilemma!
One of my Phillipine Blue spawns (which are now just over 4 months old) has about 6-7 fish with what are clearly now deformed (rearward facing) anal fins.
Problem is I had so much work on when this spawn was growing that I missed it and now they're a good size and perfect in every way apart from this.
Culling is something I do but dislike, a lot! Like most people I assume, but I find it even more unpleasant as the fish are larger.
So I suppose the question is.....
Is there any point in cutting the rearward anal fins to see if they grow back straight?
I think I have a fair idea of the answer but just wanted to check before I condemn the poor blighters pale
They're such a pleasant spawn as well just to make it even harder. I know the doomed will happily swim into the net unaware of my evil intent! I know this from the two rounds of culling I've already done with this lot.
They're not hugely deformed but certainly not correct.
They're pearlscale by the way which goes some way to explain the defect.
Thanks in advance.

Chris

Personally I've never cut a fin for cosmetic reasons, the question is, is the deformity due to genetics, or environmental, since you say...

Personally, I'd probably cull, but in the past I've bred from fish with far worse deformity where I was confident that the deformity was due to environmental issues when they were youngsters.

To be honest I couldn't have given them better conditions, I quoted work because I didn't get around to the third round of culling once they were over two months old. They had water changes every day, min 25% often 35-40% for the first 6 weeks at least. They were fed freshly hatched Artemia 4-5 times a day with micro worms added during the first two weeks.
Strangely I have another spawn from the same pair that appear at one month old to have no rearward facing anal fins and very few missing gill plates (only culled five so far, couple of belly sliders and two with gill plates short or missing) so that suggests it's not genetic but something was amiss during development. That's why I thought to maybe cut.
This current lot are going to the shop in about four weeks so I guess I'll have to make my mind up soon. I won't breed from them. I have a lot of good fish in this spawn I want to keep back.

Cheers

I culled them this morning. On closer inspection it turned out to be 12 of them.
The second pulled spawn from the same parents (britains worst parents!) are not showing this deformity at all. So I can only imagine that perhaps it was very early In their development that they were affected.
This first pulled spawn was allowed to fungus over by the parents and I didn't get to pull them until they were 4 days in. Put them on the floor of the tank as I always do with wrigglers and spent a good hour removing fungus before adding some meth blue. That it would appear is the only difference between the two spawns.

Cheers
