Hi All, I'm new here
Hi Everyone,
My name's Sam and I'm new to the forum. Saw Lisa's post on the BCA forum and thought I would sign up. Currently, due to a house move, I only have one male angel but in the past I have kept quite a few angels and have bred them a few times before. I'm currently on the look out for a female to pair with my nice gold male (below).
Gold Male
Here are some pics of a breeding occurring in one of my old grow-outs. The fry were from a cross between a silver male and platinum female and this image shows one of these fry breeding with the sire (silver male). Nothing came of these eggs as the others ate them quite quickly.
I look forward to meeting you all,
Sam

Hi Sam,
Welcome to the forum.
What are you looking for in a partner for the gold? another gold, or something to mix things up a bit?

Re: Hi All, I'm new here
Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
He is a stunning male, one of the best I've ever owned. I originally had 9 related fish to this guy but over the years I have moved them on to others. It wasn't until it was too late that I realised I didn't have a good female for him.
I've updated my profile to include this info. I'm currently living in Cambridge (for study) but spend a lot of my time in the West Midlands as well so am constantly traveling across on the A14/M6.
I haven't given this much thought, at the moment any female will do. As I am just learning about the genetics of angels I'm not sure what the best mix would be, perhaps someone could suggest something? I like very much the paraiba pattern so would love to be able to introduce this into the offspring. Is that possible?
I think he's around 2years now. I grew him and his siblings up from 5p size after obtaining them at the Midlands Charity auction. I hope to be able to breed him, as you say his offspring should be lovely!

Re: Hi All, I'm new here
Think I've decided I'd like to try and breed him to a red eye albino female.
I know these are hard to come by so I don't expect to find any in the shops.
Does anyone know of anyone/anywhere that I could find a nice female for my male?
The reason I'd like to breed an albino female to him is to give me nice strong fish in F1 that I could then cross back or cross with one another to give albino's back in F2 which would hopefully be nice strong fish. The albino's I've seen don't seem that strong and so I'd like to try to strengthen the albino line by introducing this males blood into the line.

Re: Hi All, I'm new here
Hi Sam,
I run The Aquatic Habitat at Brockworth Gloucester. We got a shipment of albinos a few months back now. They came from a supplier in Israel who described them as albino scribbled, frankly I don't know what the scribbled refered to, they're not bad fish, they seem very healthy, vigourous fish, but their ventrals aren't particularily inspiring. They're priced up at £15.90 but I do a 15% discount for memebers of the forum. Drop me a pm if you're interested. Here are a couple of photos I took of some of them shortly after they arrived.
I can't claim to have any proven females, but I'm pretty confident that there are some amongst them.

Re: Hi All, I'm new here
Hi All,
as I discussed above I was thinking about breeding my large gold male angel. As I was only thinking about it previously I didn't contact anyone about any angels they had or otherwise. However, I have now decided that instead of just thinking about it I should definitely breed him.
Therefore, I am searching for known female angels that people have for sale or if anyone knows of anywhere I can find one?
Ideally I would like an albino female as I have a soft spot for albino's in general so would be nice to include that in my line.
