Finaly got hold of......

For a good number of years now I have admired Electric Blue Jack Dempseys, I have done alot of research into what is needed to breed them but never had the cash spare for an adult breeding pair of EBJD & Blue Gene carrying JD.
Well I have finaly got hold of 2 young pairs of Blue Gene carrying Jack Dempseys , they should produce about 25% EBJD.
How long they will stay here I don't know but for now I am 'well chuffed'

[you will need to have a big tank for them to breed in lisa, as far as i understand they like room to swim about and can be agresive to one another.

Glad you're pleased with them Lisa. I have to say they're spectacular fish, but not one of my personal favourites.
we have some youngsters in quarantine at the moment, thought you might appreciate a couple of photos....

I love most Cichlids and these are beautiful little fish.
I have had the standard Jack's up to 8 inch but have only ever seen these Blue's as small fish, i would love to see a full grown one, do they still keep the markings that they have as juvies?

EBJD are one of my all time favs! I've had quite a few over the last 8 or so years that they've been available in the UK. They certainly keep their colour, it even gets better with age!

This was my favourite male....



They will/can get to the same size as normal JD's if you're lucky.

I see they do keep all that colour as they older and bigger!
