sexing angelfish, please help
Hello everyone. So I've got a pair of angelfish that I would love what sex they are and any other information anyone could tell me about them. I've tried to keep angelfish before, but they have always died on me for some reason or another. Now I have my own tank and these two are doing really well.

Hi Sabrina,
Welcome to the forum.
Sexing angels is an inexact science at the best of times, and when they're as young as yours are, nigh on impossible.
That said, if anyone can, Phil (wildreddeer) can, I'm sure he'll comment when he next pops by.

Hi Sabrina,
Welcome to Angelfish UK Forum.
Unfortunately not the age but the picture is not clear. It is too blurred to enlarge which in turn makes it impossible to get a clear line.
They are not impossible to sex. If you could take some more pictures please, Side on so the Angel takes up the whole frame. Do not try to crop it as it will spoil mt chances of enhancing the line. Please make your pictures as clear as possible.

I now have 10 pictures to go at. I'll see what I can do. But to be honest they still look a bit blurred. Don't mean to be funny, but the dividing line between male & female is very fine at there age, I'll let you know.

I wont be quoted on these due to the fuzziness of the photos.
But if you want an honest opinion its is:-
Black 95% - 100% its a Female.
Gold 90% - 95% its a male.
Sorry I can't be more precise than that, But I'll gamble on a pair.

Re: sexing angelfish, please help
Thank you for helping me out. I asked in a different forum and they said the same thing. I had a feeling the black was female, but she is much larger than the silver one, is it common for females to be larger than males or will he get bigger if indeed it is male.

my female was bigger than my male for a time Sabrina but now they're fully grown the male is far bigger than the female ... it could be that there's a slight difference in their age. So long as they are healthy I wouldn't worry about size just yet
