Hi everyone here are just a couple of my pics of my wild leopoldi's, apologies for the quality of the pictures my camera won't take a good fish picture (obviously nothing wrong with my camera skills) They are still young yet but you can just see their dorsals turning reddish purple.

Kim

They have a lovely body shape, and such cute little snouts. Very pretty. Are they anymore difficult to keep than domestics?

I feed them the same as the other angels I have, same water changes, and so far i have found them to be no different. They are supposed to be a shy fish mine must really like their food because when I am feeding they are at the top waiting not at all shy.

Oh they are lovely! I'm getting some tank bred F1s on Thursday. Smile This has made me really excited!

What sort of temps do they like? Are they into the high temps like Scalare?

As I stated before i keep them the same as my other angels , I think you can see in picture two that the temp is 25 I have had them for three weeks now and so far (touch wood) they are feeding and looking well,

I don't like the leopoldi look in domestic angels, but I think proper leopoldi's are great!
I always think they look like a cross between a scalare and a festive cichlid.
Nice colour in their fins.

Thanks for the info. Smile
At the moment I keep my angels at about 27-28 depending on time of day (the tank is too well insulated for its own good), I'm wondering if I should try and crank it down a bit.

Hi Kim,
They look better than a lot that you see and they don't look that big yet so they are doing well, I have wild Altums and i don't think you can beat the wild strains.
Mine are kept at a warmer 83 degrees but the Altums like it warmer than regular Angels.
