Angels from the USA
Hi all i was wondering if anybody would be interested in clubbing together & importing some quality angels from the likes of Mellow Aquatics & Carol (Baskington angels) in the USA although there would not be much if any monetary gain but it would help in introducing some of the stunning fish that are being produced in the states. The biggest issue would be finding a courier at a good price & the fact that a minimum of 5/6 boxes would need to be ordered to even start to make it worth while.

IMO a bigger issue would be obtaining the necessary health certificates, check with DEFRA what is required. The biggest issue would be finding a courier at a good price

Re: Angels from the USA
Haveing spoke to DEFRA & then put on to CEFAS I was told i would need to fill out form AAH2 obtainable from DEFRA website for authorisation once that was granted i would need a health cert from suplier to say all fish are in good health & are packaged correctly so when checked by inspector all meets requirements,I would then have to sort courier company that would be able to transport from A to B,STRAIGHT FORWARD SO FAR but as stated by the lady at CEFAS
the biggest problem with importing from the USA boils down to expence.Well that is it all cut short, i feel the hardest part is filling out the correct forms required & sorting logistics. But i do feel expence will be the biggest hurdle.

Re: Angels from the USA
I hope to be looking into couriers this week to see what it intails & poss costings then i hope to talk to people like Mellow aquatics to see if any deals can be had & what sort of numbers of fish would be required to make it worth while.

Perhaps you should approach DRay as he has blacks with the most fantastic fins. He's got some very nice paraibas too.

Great idea! maybe you could try Angels+ too, Steve has some cracking high coverage koi.
I'd be very wary of any manacapuru x's as (IMO) I'm not convinced they've got what we know as 'manacapuru' over there (look like normal silvers to me).

Angels+ are on the list of contacts without a doubt as i also love the high coverage koi they produce. If all goes well i will start to contact poss supliers this week & take it from there & if people like angels+ & mellow aquatics are willing to help us here in the uk with good prices etc it will then just come down to the price of the shiping & numbers of fish required.Maby it would be worth putting together a list of who would be genuinely intrested & in what they would be intrested in so we have an idea of quantity required.
Paul
PS sorry about the bad spelling

Re Angels from USA
Hi as I stated before I am definately interested in some angels from usa as to what and quantities this would be down to what supplier you use as to what they have available. Maybe we could arrange to get everyone that is interested on line one evening and use the chat box to talk and this would give you a better idea of what is required.
