If the floor is level, the cabinet clearly isn't!

When setting up a new tank, I always suggest, that a small amount of water is added before the gravel. that way you can check the water depth in all four corners, which tends to be more accurate than trying to use a spirit level.
Looking at the position of the tank on the cabinet, I'd suggest getting someone to lift the left hand end of the cabinet, and sliding a couple of 2p coins under each of the legs (or corners if it's not on legs). Don't try and wedge anything between the tank and the cabinet as that will add stresses which could cause the tank to crack.

Good luck & have fun!

Thanks for your reply's, this tank has a trickle filter in the lid which I love, it does a good job and you don't need to go in to the tank to clean it, because it is out of level I may not get the correct flow, so as Rob said I need to lift the cabinet at one end until level, I could use my car jack to ease the cabinet up........gulp!!

I suspect you'll find that that's not necessary as the tank is at one end of the of the cabinet, and you need to lift the other, in effect you have a lever. I'm assuming that it's about an 80 - 90 litre tank, so all told with water & gravel it probably weighs about 120kg, but you're only lifting one end, and with an effective lever of about 3, so only trying to lift about 20kg, and then only by a few millimetres, I'd say that's probably do-able, although the position of the stairs might make life more difficult!

If not, I'm sure the car jack will do the trick!

Thanks Rob, the tanks is 198 litres, most of the volume is the height, anyway I would do it when I do a water change to reduce the weight down a bit, I think a lever should do it if I slide a piece of wood under the sideboard to lever on, thanks for that.......

It's deceptive, I knew you bought a 198 litre one, but assumed this was a second, smaller tank.

Good luck
