any ideas?
ok im not sure what to use for a white tank divider. here is my set up.
my breeding pair are in the middle with some free swimmers.
now in the out side tanks i have blocked those out with roof slate leaning against the glass. i have a breeding pair of discus that the babys dont seem to be attaching to mum and dad properly. i want to use something white to block the tank out. any ideas?
also can someone tell me what the striped angelfish breed is? thanks.

Hi Jay do you want to use white because the Discus young are not attaching to the parents? & what colour are your Discus the reason im asking this is because when i had yellow crystal discus there young would not attache themselfs so i was told to lower the water level so the parents leaned over & that worked as it seemed to cause a shadow & the parents looked darker so the young took to that.otherwise you can use white perspecs but if you want to keep the water flowing betwwen both sides of the divider drill holes init to allow that but then you wont be able to lower the water level.

Hi, from the distance the striped Angel looks to be a Silver. What colour are the Discus?

one discus is a blue diamond and the other is orange... not sure what it is. my tank is divided off with sheets of glass i silconed in so there is no water flow. i just didnt want to put anything toxic in the water, like i have to store my RO water in a foodgade safe water butt, just thought i might have to find some white food grade plastic. ive had free swimmers 4 times from those discus but the fry seem to sit on the slate and not the parents.

Hmmm, Discus parents usualy darken in colour so the fry will find them, unfortunatly some of the beautiful Discus colours that are bred are unable to darken when needed, hense the fry have gone to the darkest places in the tank, so as you mentioned one trick that is used to help the fry is to make the rest of the tank lighter than the parents, unfortunatly I have not had much experience with these methods myself but as you have mentioned, the dark slate is causing problems.
