Ok, I give up, I am guessing here.......
I have been looking at a few youngsters from a batch that should contain a mixture of pb/pb & pb hets, now I see Blue Koi, Koi/Paraiba etc in the batch but I just can't put my finder on giving these a correct ID, are they Blue Koi? Blushing? Paraiba? something else?
They have some black markings on them fade with mood & some lovely irridecense.......

Hi Lisa,
A blue koi needs a Gm gene, so unless the one at the front has obvious solid black patches on the rear, it can't be a blue koi.
Not a paraiba, no where near enough blue...
So I'd simply call it a blushing angel.....
...however, it has red eyes, still has blushing cheeks even 'though it's obviously a reasonably mature fish, it has a golden brown crown and back and a nice deep body. In short it shows all the signs of it's Czech red herritage....
compare it with these....

Hi Helen, I thought made sure yours were definate Blue Koi. Is that good or bad?
Lisa
Just looking at your images and maybe a cunning little fella pretended he has proper black markings! But yours have a lot more irridecant areas then the one in this thread.

I'm more than satisfied with the fish you sent. The largest blue koi paraiba is a similar colour, but that's all it is I'm sure, a similarity. It's a good thing, but I also wouldn't have minded if it had been the phenotype of the fish in this post! I can't say one negative thing about the fish I received.
As a side note, one of my fish has red in it's eyes, not sure which one because the tank light has popped and I can't see the fish The red is another good thing because I have a pinoy smokey paraiba with the same, and I love this trait.

They are cunning little buggers, and yes the fish you sent have stacks of irridescence.
