OK, those that know Phil (wildreddeer) he is a master in the art of sexing Angels
Something to do with lumps & bumps but I can't remember which lumps & bumps to look for?

Those are very difficult to call!

I love the height (not to mention the colours) on No. 2, and I've already commented on how nice number one is elsewhere, as to sex....

No 1 at first glance I thought male, now I'm not so sure, forced to pick I'd probably call female, but not with any great certainty.
No 2 male almost certainly
No 3 female, with a fair degree of confidence.

No I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag. Threads like this are very good and can be helpful. So far one person has it right. I'll leave it to Lisa to let you all know the sexes. In the mean time feel free to ask.
Might even ask Lisa to add a section under breeding for you all and I'll see what my artistic skills (if any) come up with. Like I did before. But wont promise just yet.

so you're saying...
Male, Male Female
In trying to sex my fish there are several clues I look for, one of the things I look at is the body between the ventral and anal fin. In my experience in females this area is usually longer, and flatter than is the case for males. That's why I went with female for #1.
I look forward to Lisa announcing the results once the fish declare themselves!

By the way, I'm still waiting for the marbles I posted on TBAA to reveal their sexes, once they do I'll post a thread to reveal the results.

Any fish Phil has sexed for me have always been 100% true, even the ones he was looking through a bag at an auction to sex

The Angels have now decided to confirm their sexes ........ as per an email Phil sent to me when this thread started the sexes are............Male, Female, Female
The second Female has now paired up & redy to breed so I can progress to the next stage of my special breeding program

Yes, she has layed once in the adult large holding tank , and has paired off with a suitable male. I will rehouse them tomorrow & feed them up ready for the next few learner spawnings
Fingers crossed for good coverage, at least I know this line shows orange colouring very early.

My guess, for what it's worth, is a girl, and a pretty one at that!

To my eyes the head shape says male, but the belly says female, and the behaviour seems more like a female. I have several of his/her brothers, and one I'm pretty certain is a female :-

As both of these are het. for pb, I'm hoping they will give me a few nice blue marbles, amongst others.

Yes Rob, when I first looked at head shape, I thought male. I then took a closer look at the belly, and my short-sighted eyes could just see the backward slanting, albeit not dropped, tube of a young female.

Good example you have hear Rob. But can you please supply a full side on picture please. Not Necessarily the bottom half but at least from the tip of the mouth the the base of the upper fin.

Need to see from the tip of the mouth to the upper fin.

You'll understand why if I could find a way to explain it.

Not to worry Phil, I still have the fish, and I still have my camera!
The fish in my avitar, is actually turned away from the camera slightly,

But the difference is the photo is taken from slightly above the fish looking down, rather than from the fish's belly height looking up. So I'll try that with this one!

Should not make too much difference Rob. The Angle in your avatar looks to me like a young male. Ummmmmmmmmm, not too sure about the wee ones with it.
