Another stupid novice question
Another stupid novice question i'm afraid.
SO, you've seen a pair of angels spawn in your community display tank.
You have set up a 3ft, 18inch deep breeding tank with exactly the same water parameters, some slate , a breeding cone, plenty of choice for spawning sites etc.
Move the two fish into the breeding set-up and give them whatever they seem to want in the way of a varied high protein diet.
How long do you wait until you give up and decide that you really should try a different pair?

Re: Another stupid novice question
Is the female fat? If so, it should only take a few days. To get one of my pairs to spawn I moved them to their own tank, left the light on 24/7 and fed bloodworms for three days. You could give it a try, but at the end of the day, they'll spawn when they're ready.

Re: Another stupid novice question
most likely the fish are unsettled hence not spawning, you may even have to change the layout a couple of times until they get in the mood, if they are proven stick with them, they'll come right eventually.

Not a stupid question
Plenty of cool water changes can be the trigger for spawning (also a change in the air presure seems to spark of spawnings, so watch those weather reports, LOL).
