Hi Everyone, great to be here
Hi Everyone,
Just joined after being made aware of the forum by Lisa Davies at the BCA Spring convention yesterday - thanks Lisa. I've been breeding angels for over 40 years now so a bit of a fanatic you might say.
I'm looking forward to joining in with this community and swapping notes with you other breeders.
regards,
Trevor

Hello and welcome Trevor. Great to have you here. You got loads of experience and we can never have too much of that here. Do you breed any particular strain?

Thanks for the welcome
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the welcome. I am keen to keep top quality supplies of the original p.scalare in the hobby so I have a wild pair that I breed lots of and supply to the trade.
I have recently moved house and needed to cut my stocks down to the minimum. I have some blues that I will start to breed again now that I'm settling in and I have been working on a new strain angels that show lots of spots over the body that I'm referring to as my leopard strain. I'm a long way off yet and had to put on hold while I moved. Intend to get back to them as soon as I can.
At the moment most of my angel stock is in one large 4 foot tank. I'll keep you posted with what I'm doing here.
regards,
Trevor

Pictures as promised
Some pictures of Rob's blue marbles as promised. But also, the blue I bought from you Rob has spawned with a Gold male.
I bought what was supposed to be a gold pair at the BCA auction. They have been sparring since I put them in my community tank but tonight when I got home I noticed that both golds and the blue I bought from Rob were fanning a new batch of eggs.
The blue was already showing her tube at the weekend. Now I'm wondering whether I have two gold males or whether the gold female is now about to add her eggs there as well. The tube certainly looks a bit too blunt to be a male.
Only problem is they are in a very busy community tank
Judge from the pictures.
Regards,
Trevor

Hi. Lovely acquisitions. The golds head shape gives his gender away. His tube does look quite wide, but he looks like a large fish. I suppose he could just be blessed being well endowed

Hi Trevor,
looks like they've settled in well, that blue female has a gold marble gene, so if you do raise any of the young you'll get some gold marbles in the mix.

As I suspected, since they were in my angel community the eggs quickly disappeared. Now I know I have a pair I'm going to move them out into a breeding tank and give them another try.

Okay Trevor, so the gold in the picture is a confirmed male then? Good luck with the pair. Keep us updated.
