HELP, i have too many fish ALL GONE NOW

Post  gibbo156 on Sun 10 Mar 2013, 13:16

I need to move some fish on to make room.
I can take them to a shop but i would rather let them go to somebody that is looking for the particular genetics.

Please note, these fish are collection only from OX15 postcode.

1 Male Zebra veiltail ( z/+, v/+ )
1 female Zebra veiltail ( z/+, v/+ )
2 male Smokey blue marble ( M/+, s/+, Sm/+, pb/pb )
Both of the zebra veiltails have previously bred with blue partners so i have the following juvenile / sub adults

z/+, v/+, pb/+
s/+, v/+, pb/+
s/s, v/+, pb/+
s/s, pb/+

I also have the offspring from a really nice paring

Sire = gm/+, s/+, pb/pb
Dam = g/+, s/+, pb/pb

The babies are all combinations of the above so there are: -
gm/+ pb/pb ( marble platinum )
g/+ pb/pb ( platinum )
s/+ pb/pb
pb/pb etc etc
These are all juvenile, but coming along nicely.
I want to hang on to some of the babies without the gold marble gene
If anybody is interested then let me know and i will post pictures.

You would need to bring your own bags.

The Blue Smokies went this morning.
The adult veiltails are probably going on Monday
The sub-adult veiltails ( v/+, pb/+ ) are spoken for, as soon as we can arrange pick up.
Plenty of juvenile platinum and platinum marble remaining.
Some juvenile blushing platinum and blushing platinum marble left.

One or two sub adult pb/+ ( stripless and blushing ) still left.

It looks like they are going, but i will be in touch if they don't.
I have some sub-adult veils that are going next week. If the lady doesn't take them all then i will let you know.
I am keeping one adult veil ( s/+, v/+ ) that i haven't listed here, and some younsters from the veils that i am moving on, so i will breed some more veils if there is enough interest.
You don't see veils in the shops much, i know that not everybody likes them.
I don't allow two veils to breed together so that i never have any superveils. I only ever saw one batch of them and they can hardly swim.
But this means that when i have a batch of fry then only 25% of them carry the veiltail gene. Luckily it seems to show very quickly so it is possible to identify them quickly.

Just picked up a stunning pair of clown/marble veils and 9 mixed juveniles. All happily feeding and getting used to their new home Smile

Thank you so much Gibbo, you, your wife and gorgeous grandaughter were lovely. It was a pleasure to meet you all. I must apologise for my mother.. she doesn't get out to the countryside much! lol

I'll post some pics once the little ones have grown on a bit.

Hi
I've only got the platinum and marble platinum juveniles left now. A couple of blues in with them.
Parents were g/+, s/+, pb/pb and gm/+, s/+, pb/pb

Hi Gibbo.

Is there any paraiba's or ghosts in there? Preferably without the GM.

Cheers.

No sorry, everything that is left has marbling (except for a couple of runty ones,,, see below ).
What is your definition of paraiba ?
I just can't get used to all those names, i don't seem to have a problem with the genetic coding.
They are all pb/pb ( philippine blue from both parents )
Some are s/+ and some are s/s (stripeless and blushing,,, i can handle that one! )
They all look to be Gm/+ or Gm/g
There are one or two that have no marbling and probably no gold either but they are very small and i wouldn't expect anybody to take them. They are less than half the size of the rest of the batch.

Sorry, give me a couple of months. i have a batch free swimming last weekend
Parents are (male) M/+, s/+, Sm/+, pb/pb (Marble, blue smokey )
(female) g/g , s/+, pb/pb ( platinum )

There should be some of what you want in there.
As usual i will select the half dozen that i want to keep for my breeding project and then i will be selling or giving away the remainder.

OK i've just been and looked up Paraiba
Assuming you mean s/s ( stripeless from both parents(blushing) ) and pb/pb (philippine blue from both parents ) then yes i have some
The ones i was hoping to part with have a gold marble gene from one parent as well.
There are a couple that i had put aside for myself that have gold ( and not gold marble ) and i could be persuaded to part with a couple, as usual i have kept too many !
SO, if you are still interested then PM me for address and 'phone number.

Small are fine as long as they are not runts. I don't mind growing them on at all and have BBS on hand if needed. Also got my worm cultures on the way. Very Happy

Yes Paraiba is blushing blue so S/S - pb/pb, Blue ghosts would be with 1 stripeless gene so S/+ - pb/pb. A hidden gold is fine but would prefer without the GM.

I think I want what you want to save. Very Happy

Edit, 1st photo above, bottom centre looks like a paraiba. Looks like one above him too in the middle of the bunch.
